
Square Enix Announces SaGa Emerald Beyond Game for 2024 – News
Square Enix has announced that it will be releasing a new game in the SaGa series called SaGa Emerald Beyond. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android, and is set to be released worldwide in 2024.
During the Nintendo Direct livestream, Square Enix unveiled a trailer for SaGa Emerald Beyond, introducing the game’s characters. The trailer showcases Tsunamori Mido, Ameya, Bonnie, Formina, Diva No. 5, and Siugnas. Additionally, the video provides a glimpse of the Timeline Battles that players can expect in the game.
SaGa Emerald Beyond offers players the chance to embark on journeys across 17 different worlds with each of the heroes. The game features branching story paths and multiple endings, providing players with a unique and immersive gameplay experience.
The SaGa series has a rich history, with the original Romancing SaGa game being released in 1992 for the Super Famicom (SNES) console. The game received an enhanced remake for the PlayStation 2 titled Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song in 2005. In 2009, a ported version of the original game was launched for mobile phones and the Nintendo Wii. The remastered version of Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song was released in December last year.
The sequel, Romancing SaGa 2, was released for the Super Famicom in 1993. The game received a remastered version in 2017, which was made available on various platforms such as the PS4, PlayStation Vita, Switch, Xbox One, and PC. Romancing SaGa 3, released in 1995 for the Super Famicom, also received a remastered version in 2019, which was released on various platforms like PS4, PS Vita, Switch, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android.
The smartphone game, Romancing SaGa Re; Universe, was released in Japan in December 2018. Set three years after the events of Romancing SaGa 3, the game features characters from the past entries in the series.
Square Enix also developed the SaGa Frontier role-playing game for the original PlayStation, which was released in Japan in 1997 and in North America in 1998. The game received a remastered version in April 2021, which was made available on PS5, PS4, Switch, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android.
SaGa Scarlet Grace was released on PlayStation Vita in December 2016, and a port of the game called SaGa Scarlet Grace: Hiiro no Yabō was released for Switch, PS4, iOS, Android, and PC in August 2018.
